Completely rebuilt and migrated the TopGear India content management system — moving the codebase from CodeIgniter to Laravel and shifting the entire infrastructure from shared hosting to cloud hosting (GCP). The result was a dramatic performance improvement and a far more scalable, maintainable editorial platform.
Problem Statement
The existing CMS was built on CodeIgniter and hosted on shared hosting, resulting in page load times averaging 2–4 minutes, poor scalability, high bounce rates, and frustrated editorial staff. A full-stack modernisation was needed without disrupting live operations.
How I Solved It
Migrated the full backend from CodeIgniter to Laravel, re-architected the data layer with optimized queries and Redis caching, and moved the entire platform from shared hosting to Google Cloud Platform. Added CDN integration and lazy-loading for content delivery, and rebuilt the editorial interface for faster publishing.
